2009 Kerrville Folk Festival
ECMA Artists Take to the Stage 'Canadian Music. East Coast Style'
Five of Atlantic Canada's most talented took to the stage at the legendary 2009 Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas on June 6th and 7th.

ECMA singers/songwriters Ron Hynes (NL), Charlie A'Court (NS), Amelia Curran (NS), Rose Cousins (PE/NS) and Dave Gunning (NS) showcased the first-ever "Canadian Music. East Coast Style" Songwriters In the Round at the Kennedy Outdoor Theatre Main Stage on Sunday, June 7th. The 2009 Main Stage will also feature performances by Dave Gunning (Saturday, June 6th) and Ron Hynes (Sunday, June 7th).

ECMA has developed a solid working relationship with Kerrville Folk Festival Producer, Dalis Allen who has participated in past ECMA International Programs as part of the ECMA's annual event, and is a very strong supporter of East Coast music.

"This is a solid example of developing international business activities through contacts first made through the ECMA International Program and establishing long-term relationships," says Shelley Nordstrom, ECMA International Export Manager. "It is a huge live performance opportunity for our artists as Kerrville is one of the most prestigious songwriter festivals in North America."

Dalis continues to support East Coast music and book our songwriters at the festival. Past performers have included Matt Andersen, Dave Gunning, George Canyon, Charlie A'Court, and Lennie Gallant.

Funding support was provided by the International Business Development Agreement. The IBDA is a federal/provincial export development agreement between the Government of Canada (represented by ACOA, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and Industry Canada) and the four provincial governments in Atlantic Canada.
